What It Is

A ceramic coating is a hard shield bonded to your paint.

Wax wears off in a few months, but ceramic coating bonds to the clear layer over your paint and lasts for years. That bond helps protect your paint from sun, salt, and harsh weather all year.

Water beads off

Water rolls off the surface, so rain carries away dirt.

Sun and salt protection

Helps protect your paint from sun damage and fading. It also makes it harder for Minnesota road salt to stick.

Washing gets easier

Dirt comes off with less scrubbing, which means fewer wash marks, fewer swirls, and more gloss.

Ceramic Coating Packages

Ceramic Coating Packages & Pricing

Every level uses the same professional ceramic coating for 2–3 years of protection. The difference is how much paint correction we do first. This step removes swirls and light scratches before we apply the coating. We do all coating work at our Shakopee shop.

Every coating requires a drop-off. Your vehicle stays with us while the coating bonds and hardens. Before you leave the shop, we give you the exact date it will be ready for pickup.

The Process

What happens after you drop off your vehicle

Booking takes a few minutes, but the coating process takes several days. Here is what happens at our Shakopee shop.

  • 1

    Drop-Off and Paint Check

We inspect the paint with you, confirm the coating level, and give you an exact pickup date before you leave.
  • 2

    Deep Paint Cleaning

We deep-clean the paint with a special wash and clay bar. This removes stuck-on dirt before we apply the coating.
  • 3

    Paint Correction

For Levels 2 and 3, we polish the paint by machine to reduce swirls and scratches. This is the slowest step and has the biggest effect on how the finish looks.
  • 4

    Coating and Bonding

We apply the coating one panel at a time. Then it bonds and hardens in our climate-controlled shop before pickup.

Durability & Care

How long it lasts, and what it needs

A ceramic coating is not maintenance-free, but it is maintenance-easy. Here is what to expect after you pick your vehicle up from our Shakopee shop.

Measured in years, not months

A ceramic coating outlasts wax by years, not months. We give you a straight answer on expected life for your vehicle when you drop it off.

Built for Minnesota

Road salt, freeze-thaw cycles, and summer sun are the three things that age paint here. The coating takes all three instead of your clear coat.

We are here after pickup

Questions about your coating after you drive off? Call the shop and we will talk it through or take a look in person.

Keeping it working

  • Hand wash with a pH-neutral soap
  • Skip the brush tunnels — they put swirls back
  • Rinse off salt through the winter months
  • Skip the wax — a coating does not need it
  • Deal with bird droppings and sap early
  • Bring it in yearly and we will check the coating

Questions

Ceramic coating, answered

Ceramic coating for a car or sedan starts at $500 for Level 1, $850 for Level 2, and $1,200 for Level 3. SUVs and trucks cost more based on size. A 30% deposit holds your appointment, and the rest is due at pickup.

Every level uses the same ceramic coating. The difference is how much paint correction we do first. Level 1 has no paint correction. Level 2 uses a one-step polish to reduce light swirls. Level 3 uses a multi-stage polish to reduce heavy swirls and scratches.

You can choose Level 1 without paint correction. The coating protects your paint, but it will not hide existing swirls or scratches. We inspect the paint with you and help you choose the right level before work begins.

Every level gives your paint 2–3 years of protection with proper care. The exact time depends on how you store and wash your vehicle.

Most vehicles stay with us for three to six days. Level 1 takes three to four days, Level 2 takes four to five, and Level 3 takes five to six. This gives us time to correct the paint and let the coating bond and harden. We confirm your exact pickup date at drop-off.

Book online and choose your coating level and vehicle size. The 30-minute time you reserve is for drop-off and a paint check, not the full service. We inspect the paint with you, confirm the level, and give you an exact pickup date. A 30% deposit holds your appointment, and the rest is due at pickup.

Hand washing with a gentle, pH-neutral car soap is best. A touchless wash is fine when needed. Avoid brush tunnels because the spinning brushes can add swirls to your paint.

No. Every level covers the painted panels. Wheel and glass coating are available as add-on services if you would like them. Just ask when you drop off and we will add them to your appointment.

For many Minnesota drivers, yes. Ceramic coating helps protect paint from road salt, sun, grime, and harsh weather. It also makes winter washing easier because salt and dirt rinse away with less scrubbing.

Ceramic coating needs steady temperature and humidity while it bonds. Sun, wind, and dust can damage the finish before it hardens. That is why we apply every coating in our climate-controlled Shakopee shop. We still offer other mobile detailing services.
